The Luton Arts Council runs several 'in-house'
projects:
Annual Drama Festival:
The Luton Arts Council sponsors the Adult and Youth One-Act Drama
Festivals held at the Luton Library Theatre in the spring of each
year. These festivals provide an opportunity for people of all ages
to come together from the surrounding areas to demonstrate their creativity,
energy, ideas and talents. The second round of the All-England Eastern
Region Drama Festival is held after the last night of the Adult Drama
Festival. This is a competition between the round one winners of the
Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Festivals.
They are all professionally adjudicated by members of the Guild of
Drama Adjudicators.
Short Story Competition:
This
free competition is open to everyone resident in Luton and the counties
of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Stories can be
of any length up to a maximum of 1500 words.
£100 will be awarded to the first place in each Adult category
and £75 in the Under 16 category.
